The Best Meal Replacement Smoothie

Smoothies are my go-to in the mornings for breakfast. Most days, it’s so hard to get out of the door on time, much less with breakfast having been consumed. What I love so much about this smoothie recipe is the fact that it is so filling! I swear you won’t think about eating for a few hours after drinking.

We live in such a busy world. Every day we wake up and immediately think about what we have to do for work, what we have to do for others, what we have to do around the house… it’s not often I get to wake up and ask myself “What do I want to do for me today?” I think we should start each day by asking ourselves this question. It’s important that we take care of ourselves and do a self-check of our happiness and  well-being so we can be the best we can be at accomplishing other tasks and goals.

How can I focus on making other people happy when I myself am not happy? How can I perform the best at work when I didn’t allow myself to get adequate sleep, a good workout in, or simply drinking enough water in the morning to feel refreshed and hydrated. That’s why I highly suggest penciling out some time in the mornings to do a self-check and ask yourself what you should feel grateful for. I promise you, there will be at least one thing that comes to mind.

Simply start by making this satisfying & healthy smoothie for yourself for breakfast!

For this recipe you will need:

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

1/4 cup blueberries

1/2 ripe avocado

2 cups baby spinach

2 dates, pits removed

1 Tbsp flax seeds

1/2 frozen banana

1 Tbsp organic peanut butter or almond butter

1 handful of ice

  1. Add all ingredients except for the ice into a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Add the ice and blend once more until smoothie.
  3. Pour, sip, enjoy!
