Super Bowl weekend really set me back with my health and wellness goals. I had been doing so well with eating wholesome, nutritious foods, moving my body for at least 30 minutes a day, and drinking lots of H2O. Then, I had steak for dinner two nights in a row, drank lots and lots of wine, and chowed down on jambalaya, fried chicken wings and BROWNIES for Super Bowl. Yeah…. I wasn’t feeling so hot Monday morning. Not only does eating poorly affect my gut, it also affects my mental health. It takes me a full day (if not two days) to recuperate from consuming unhealthy foods and lots of alcohol. I felt easily agitated, somewhat depressed and extremely sluggish. It’s seriously the worst because I’m definitely a get-up-and-go kinda gal.

The key to not feeling even more like sh** is to just get up and force yourself to be productive and eat well. The last thing I wanted to do yesterday was to move my body but I knew that if I gave myself a 30 minute walk in nature, I would instantly feel much better. It worked! After my 30 minute walk, I prepared this delicious smoothie for myself and then I even took a late night spin class. Sometimes, you need two workouts to sweat all the booze out. I think the smoothie is what I needed to energize my body and decide that a spin class was necessary.

I love this easy green smoothie because it’s loaded with lots of vegetables but it has a subtle, natural sweetness thanks to the mango & pineapple. It is exactly what you might need when you’re feeling extra blahhh and need a boost. Highly recommend!!

Spinach, Avocado & Mango Smoothie

Servings 1 serving


  • Blender


  • 1 cup Baby Spinach
  • 1/2 large Avocado
  • 1/4 cup Frozen Mango Chunks
  • 1/4 cup Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  • 1 Banana preferably frozen
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup Non-Dairy Milk or Water add more for desired consistency
  • 1/2 cup Ice Cubes


  • Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. *Add more water for a looser consistency.*
  • Sip & feel rejuvenated!
