Smoked Trout Dip


This past weekend I got to do something I normally don’t have the time to do:  cook all day. I spent most of Saturday in the kitchen making some of my favorite dishes and snacks, including this smoked trout dip. This recipe is absolutely amazing and it really can’t be any simpler!

I was at the grocery store shopping for other ingredients to make something completely different when I started thinking about buying some store-prepared smoked trout dip to have as a snack. Then I thought to myself, “why buy it when I can make it myself?” I’m so happy I did decide to make it myself because then I could take the credit and gladly accept all of the compliments.

For this recipe you will need:

2 packages smoked trout filets, 10-12 oz.

1/2 cup creme fraiche

1/3 cup cream cheese

Juice from 1/2 large lemon

2 Tbsp fresh dill, chopped

1 Tbsp fresh chives, thinly sliced

Salt and Pepper to taste

Using your hands or two forks, shred the smoked trout filets until they are in bite size pieces. Then, add the creme fraiche, cream cheese, lemon juice, and freshly chopped dill and chives. Add a sprinkle of salt and freshly ground black pepper and taste. Season to your liking.
