jill-mccoy-edits-16 Working out and living a healthy lifestyle is definitely something I’ve been practicing for a long time. I really started caring about what I put into my body and how much physical activity I get in the beginning of my college years. Now, with a busier and more hectic life schedule, I still find time to squeeze in what makes me feel good from the inside out. Fueling your body is key to burning off those calories!

If I had it my way, I would get a badass workout in every morning before work. However, sometimes things happen and there either isn’t any time, I woke up too late, I’m too tired, I have too much laundry to fold in the morning, etc. I usually try to wake up somewhere between 6-6:30 so I can hit my apartment gym by 7, be in the shower by 7:50, and out the door by 8:45 to get to work by 9am. If I’m really feeling well-rested and strong, I will wake up at 5:45am and drive myself to an early morning 6:15am workout class. And I mean well-rested…

No matter what time of the day I work out, whether it’s early morning or late evening, I always try to give my body the fuel it needs to get through a hardcore workout. These are my favorite pre-workout snacks that I hope you will love too:

  1. Coconut and chia Kefir + granola and dried fruit
  2. Original hummus with Carrot + Celery Sticks
  3. Cashew Butter + Banana
  4. (3) Turkey Slices and Stacy’s Multigrain Pita Chips.
  5. Chocolate Peanut Butter Clif Bar.
