Monday Musings: The Importance of a Vacation

Happy Monday… evening! I know I’m a little late. I was spending my day pool-side soaking up all of the sun. Today’s quick Monday Musings post is about the importance of taking a vacation and self care.

I felt like before today, I had been going non-stop for the past two weeks. Working events, keeping up with things outside of work, my quick 2 day trip to Brooklyn, it’s just been nuts! I am so happy to finally be on vacation with Mitch and his family. I can now relax and just enjoy the little things- like beach, sand and sun.

As I was sipping my pina colada by the pool today, I was thinking about how important it is for people to give themselves time away from work. Whether it’s a staycation at home or getting away to a totally different place. It’s important to give your mind and your body a break from the day-to-day grind. I think of my dad when I think of vacations… he deserves any vacation he can get! That man works his a$$ off and I am always so happy when I know he is away from work and enjoying himself.

Self care is the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health.

Life is already super stressful and busy so why not just put your out-of-office automatic reply on and go to your happy place!

My happy place is anywhere with Mitch (I know, super cheesy but true!) and just enjoying everything God has given me. Even if you can’t get away, at least pour yourself a glass of wine or crack open a cold beer- anything helps.

Life is good so let’s just be happy!
