Make A Healthy Swap

How many of us depend on our morning cup of joe to get us through the first part of the day?  I know I use to.  I could not go without my coffee or I would feel irritable, tired, and sluggish.  I still love and enjoy my morning cup of coffee, but I did start swapping a cup of coffee for a cup of green tea each morning.  I receive the same kick I need to jumpstart my morning and feel awake and alert, but I’m being nourished with green tea goodness that coffee could never give me.

Green tea is loaded with catechins.  What are catechins?  They are antioxidants best known for fighting against diseases and preventing cell damage.  I don’t think we can get enough catechins into our daily diet.  Researchers believe that a cup or two of green tea a day along with a proper diet and active lifestyle will positively affect a healthy life.  And no, do not drink the sweetened Lipton green tea in a bottle.  I’m talking about a packet of green tea to steep in hot water.  I enjoy flavoring my green tea with a little bit of honey and lemon.

Not only does green tea make you healthy on the inside, it keeps you looking young on the outside.  It’s anti-aging benefits will keep your skin looking oh-so-beautiful and I know that’s always a plus with me because I am a freak about my retinol and eye cream.  If green tea can keep me from spending up to $100 at Sephora on beauty products, I am all in. Although Sephora is one of my favorite stores…  Keep in mind that it’s simple swaps like this that can make a huge impact on your health.  You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on eating organic or gluten-free – just look for easy ways to incorporate healthy changes.  If I can do it, you can do it too!
