Happy Birthday to the best Dad in the entire world. Without you, so many things wouldn’t have been possible for me. I love and respect you so much and I am so proud to call you my father.
If there is one thing people have always noticed about my Dad, it is his work ethic and compassion for others. Growing up, there were so many times my Dad was not able to make our sports games, music recitals, school functions, etc. This was all due to the fact that he has always been an extremely busy surgeon- giving his patients the best possible care he could. I used to not be able to understand why he couldn’t relax or ease his mind when one of his patients wasn’t healing or getting any better. I used to not understand why my Dad couldn’t sit through an entire family meal without having to get up and answer his pages from the hospital. I used to not understand why he couldn’t leave work to bring me lunch at school. Now, I understand.
I truly believe that certain people are born to do what they are destined to do. My Dad was called upon this Earth to be a doctor and help heal sick people. His love for medicine and helping people feel better is what has made him the successful surgeon he is today. I know my Dad would do anything on this planet to take care of my Mom, brothers, and I. Even if that means waking up at 3 am to go to the emergency room while the rest of us peacefully sleep. For that, I am extremely grateful. I don’t think he will ever know how truly grateful and appreciative we are to have him.
I love you, Dad.
