Black-Owned Businesses to Support!

I think we all took a deep sigh of relief after hearing the final verdict of the Derek Chauvin Trial against the murder of George Floyd. Mr. Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, was found guilty on all counts of murdering George Floyd; a senseless murder which sparked the largest civil rights protests in decades.

It was almost this time last year- May 25, 2020 – when {former Officer} Derek Chauvin knelt his knee into George Floyd’s back and neck for almost 9 minutes, ultimately leading to the poor man’s death and what we’ve seen as an entire re-awakening in the system and in our country. The fight for equal human rights is far from over, but I’m so glad that progress has been made. It’s my daily goal to wake up every day and treat those- no matter their race, skin color, background, etc- with the same love, respect and compassion which I prefer to be treated with.

Although there is still a lot of work to be done, let’s just take a moment to appreciate that yesterday in the Minneapolis courtroom, justice was served. May George Floyd and several other African American individuals who senselessly lost their lives due to police brutality, finally rest in peace.

In light of everything going on, I think it’s important to continue to support black-owned businesses. Let’s continue to lift & support one another!

Here’s a list of some amazing business- from beauty to pet care:

Please please please… do whatever you can to love, respect and support one another. Let’s work together to make this world a better place… if not for us right now, for our future generations… for our children.

JJ
