It’s been one week ago today that Mitch and I tied the knot on a beautiful, magical, pleasant day in Austin, TX. I can’t believe we are officially married! I have to admit, I was feeling pretty sad the day after our wedding because we were talking about our wedding for 16 months and then BAM, it’s over. I felt somewhat depressed!

We got engaged on July 8, 2018 on a family vacation trip to Cape Cod. Once we decided on a wedding date, I thought to myself “OMG it is forever away!” Although we gave ourselves more than enough time to plan the wedding weekend, it still went by pretty fast. I’m glad I enjoyed the entire wedding planning process as some brides do not… it really helps when you have a good team involved.

The entire wedding weekend was unbelievably fun. The festivities started on the Thursday prior with a welcome party at Dirty Bill’s – a fun, electric dive bar in downtown Austin. We had one of our favorite taco restaurants – Taco Flats – cater the welcome party with their food truck. Chips & queso for everyone!

On Friday, we had our rehearsal dinner at our favorite restaurants in Austin – Odd Duck. Mitch’s parent’s hosted the rehearsal dinner by renting the entire patio of Odd Duck for our closest family and friends. It was so nice to see everyone who came in town from all over the U.S. to celebrate with us. It was the perfect rehearsal dinner setting as it wasn’t too fancy or casual – it was just right and simply “odd” (in a good way) as Odd Duck would prefer it. If you haven’t dined at Odd Duck yet, please do yourself a favor and go there!

Saturday, wedding day, my Matron of Honor & best friend, Morgan, and I woke up in the extremely comfortable king bed in the bridal suite at the Four Seasons Hotel. We had an early wake up call as hair & makeup for 10 ladies must start early… believe me when I say it can be a challenge wrangling 8 bridesmaids at 7am on a Saturday. Shout out to my good friend Kriston and her team for making us look & feel our very best!

The Four Seasons delivered coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit to our bridal suite. I felt calm, content and ready. I really surprised myself as I  thought I would be more of an emotional mess. The entire day felt happy as it should and the weather was absolutely perfect. The few days leading up to our wedding day were cold, cloudy and a bit drizzly. When I woke up on the morning of November 9th, the fog lifted and it turned into a sunny, 65 degree, no wind, simply amazing day. Thank you, Mother Nature!!
