Valentine’s Day is almost here and I’m sure there are some of you who have already planned out exactly what you and your loved one are going to do together or what you are going to get them… and then there are some of you who almost totally forgot that it will be America’s biggest, commercialized romance day. No need to fret- strawberry s’more trifles are super simple to make and they definitely say “I love you.”

I have always enjoyed Valentine’s Day because it is a day to remind your partner how much you love and appreciate them. And hopefully they reciprocate by showering you with love, hugs, and all that good stuff. However, Valentine’s Day can also be a bit hectic because if you don’t make dinner reservations a week in advance then you’re stuck with either the super early reservations or the super late reservations. Not to mention, the crowds in restaurants and movie theaters will be a bit overwhelming. Personally, I think staying home with your loved one is a great alternative.

Rethink this year’s V-Day by hanging out in the comfort of your own home and doing something that you probably haven’t done in a long time- make s’mores! These aren’t just any s’mores, though. They are a bit more fancy because they can be eaten out of glasses with a dessert spoon.

For this recipe you will need:

2/3 cup graham crackers, crumbled
2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2/3 cup Nutella, slightly melted
12 Marshmallows, roasted
1 cup strawberries, chopped
1/3 cup slivered almonds

In a small bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are moistened. Evenly distribute and pack the crumbs on the bottom of the serving glasses. Spoon about 1 Tbsp of the melted Nutella on top of the graham cracker crumbs. Then, using either a small cooking torch, a gas stove, or an actual campfire, lightly roast the marshmallows. You could also microwave the marshmallows, as well. Place 2 roasted marshmallows on top of the Nutella. Repeat the layers. Garnish with chopped strawberries and slivered almonds. Serve immediately.

It’s easy, fun, and most importantly, not stressful! Have a lovely Valentine’s Day.
