Is there such thing as a workout pioneer? If so, I think I just may be one. I am so easily convinced to try new and different kinds of workouts. Whether it’s running on a treadmill in a gym, punching a 100 pound boxing bag, barre, pilates, Zumba – I have done it all. Well, recently I have been on the hot yoga kick, and I absolutely love it. I don’t know what it is about stretching and feeling like a pretzel in a 95 degree studio, but it is so amazing.
It took me a while to get on the yoga bandwagon because I just couldn’t quite grasp being able to stretch and lay on a mat in different positions to get the workout I needed. I almost felt like yoga was some sort of cult. I thought running around like a crazy person and lifting a few weights was what I needed to be doing. I was so wrong.
I still like to run around like a crazy person and get my cardio in, but this hot yoga stuff is the best thing after a long, frustrating day. Even after a long night of one too many vodka/tonics, it feels so invigorating to have sweat trickle out of each pore. Give it a try!!
