IMG_2570 I’m a sucker for face masks and anything that has to do with helping my skin-tone remain even and bright. Most of us think we have to go spend hundreds of dollars on expensive skincare products to get great results, but what we don’t always think of is to use the simple ingredients we already have in our kitchens. This homemade face mask recipe is easy, smells good, and actually works!

I love using this mask after a long weekend of not-so-healthy decisions or after being out in the sun for a while. This mask will dramatically reduce dark spots on your skin while brightening and evening out your complexion. The richness of the Greek yogurt is absorbed into your pores as if your skin has been begging for it for years. Yogurt contains lactic acid which aids in dissolving dead skin cells. When applied to your face, it will gently exfoliate the outside of the skin and create a natural glow which keeps lines and wrinkles at a minimum. Who wouldn’t love that?!

All you need is:

1/2 c. full fat, plain Greek yogurt
3 Tbsp cucumber, freshly grated
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
Coconut oil

Thoroughly mix the Greek yogurt, cucumber, honey, baking soda, and lemon juice in a bowl. Using your hands, apply an even, thin layer of the mixture onto your face and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and then apply a thin layer of coconut oil to your face. I like to use this face mask before bed so the coconut oil can sit on my face all night. Your skin will LOVE and thank you.

You may the store the homemade face mask in a mason jar or other tightly sealed container for about 3-5 days.
