I’m not a big dessert maker but this dessert definitely hits the jackpot. I love simple, classic desserts and crepes are one of my favorites. I thought I would take the average crepe dish to another level. This recipe is perfect for dinner parties because it looks great and doesn’t take long at all to whip up.

Normally, I would have made my crepes from scratch because it is not very difficult at all- almost like making pancakes- but in this case, I bought store-bought, made in France crepes. The instructions and recipes on the back are all in French so I just decided to just go with the flow. Also, I bought some Madagascar vanilla creme fraîche from the store and it is amazing! You will hear angels sing every time you take a bit.

For this recipe you will need:

Ready-to-eat crepes
1 banana, sliced
1/2 cup strawberries, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp vanilla creme fraîche
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp light brown sugar
Powdered sugar, garnish
Candied pecans, garnish

In a bowl, gently mix the bananas, strawberries, ground cinnamon, and vanilla creme fraîche together. In a medium saute pan, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Then, add the pre-made crepe and cook over low heat until the crepe begins to take on the butter/brown sugar crust. This is what makes the crepes “brûlée.” Spoon enough of the banana and strawberry mixture along one side of the crepe and gently begin to roll it over. Garnish with powdered sugar and some delicious candied pecans.
