Today has been an egg-filled day! Our student productions in school were to cook eggs 12 different ways. Scramble, fry, boil, baste, omelet- you name it! Let’s just say, I do not want to see or eat another egg for a couple of days. Out of all of the eggs we prepared, the french omelet was my favorite because it is classic, simple and so delicious.
Instead of telling you how to make this breakfast creation, I shall show you instead. Well, Chef Jacques Pépin will show you! This is the video our chef showed us so we could get a better understanding. I am a visual learner so having someone perform something in front of me is always beneficial. Next time you feel like whipping up a Sunday brunch, make this French omelet and impress everyone!
In this video, Chef Pépin creates a classic, Country-Style omelet and a French omelet. Both are quite unique in their own way, but the French omelet is definitely something that would wow a crowd. Of course, you can always re-create these omelets whichever way you would like by adding more ingredients, but this is the basic, classic approach.
As you can see, my omelet doesn’t quite look like his. The shape is what matters! However, practice makes perfect. Bon Appetit!
