Chicago, Illinois is my birth city and even though I only lived there for the first 3 years of my life, I enjoy going back to visit and explore. There is SO much to do in Chicago from eating at a variety of restaurants with diverse cuisines to shopping on Michigan Ave to exploring the many fabulous museums and landmarks the Windy City has to offer. I took as many pics of my quick trip as I could so I can look back at the fond ( and tasty) memories.

When life gives you lemons- make lemonade, right? Better yet, when life gives you certain opportunities, take full advantage of them. I was lucky enough to be invited to Chicago for my first ever “business trip.” I would say it was more pleasure than business because there was eating and drinking involved, but the main reason I went was to better my career by learning more about the fast-growing cooking appliance industry. Jenn-Air appliances, to be exact.

Jenn-Air is owned by World of Whirlpool and under the WOW corporation are several brands we are all familiar with such as Β Jenn-Air, Maytag, Kitchen Aid, and Gladiator- just to name a few. 11 other chefs/food lovers in the industry and I were flown out to Chicago to participate in a 3 day Chef Immersion Training filled with learning about the brand and new appliances, competing as teams while cooking on the newest and super efficient Jenn-Air cook tops and ovens, and eat so many yummy and delicious meals. This experience was so fulfilling and along with learning so much about Jenn-Air and all of their amazing appliances, I also got to meet some pretty awesome and successful chefs. My new friends have so much experience in the food industry and some were even on the top cooking competitions such as Chopped, Top Chef, and Hell’s Kitchen. Others have worked as private chefs for the rich and famous, own restaurants, and have been executive chefs for years. I am truly so fortunate to have had this wonderful opportunity and not only did I learn more about my industry, I met some pretty rad people I can now call my friends.

I want to thank Jenn-Air and the amazing staff for their hospitality, graciousness, and food & appliance knowledge. Here are some pics I took of my fabulous trip. The mouthwatering food pictures do not do the actual plates justice. Thank you, Jenn Air Executive ChefΒ Ender Oktayuren and his creative and talented culinary team for feeding us so many delicious meals. I will dream about them forever.
